What is Acrylic Photo Mounting?
Also known as Acrylic Face Mount, Acrylic Photo Mount is the process of adhering a photo under plexiglass. Acrylic Face Mounting is similar to the technique invented by Heinz Sovilla-Brulhart in 1969. The main difference is that modern Acrylic mounting uses a glue technology that comes in rolls; in comparison, Mr. Sovilla-Brulhart's process utilizes a liquid gel adhesive.
We start by printing on glossy or metallic photography paper at the highest resolution possible. This option produces images with unmatched color vibrancy and full-color gamut.
Once the UltraChrome Archival ink has dried, we face mount the print under your preferred acrylic finish option. Each option we offer is unique and should be considered, depending on the specifications of your project.
We finish by adding a DiBond backing and an aluminum subframe for easy hanging.

Face mounting to plexiglass secures your photo between a sheet of Acrylic and Dibond aluminum, protecting the print from the elements.
Additionally, the glue and acrylic combinations guard your prints against damaging UV light. This is why photo mounting under Acrylic will preserve your pictures for decades to come.
A Frameless and Easy to Hang Solution
Your mounted photo will arrive ready for display with an aluminum subframe behind it. The subframe is 3/4" thick and attached 2" from the edges.
There are no wires or visible holes in the front. After the simple installation, the print looks as if it is magically floating on your wall.
