Why Choose Canvas Photo Prints

How many times have you wished that your treasured family photos had not faded, loosing their original vibrancy and beauty? Your parents and grandparents photos are almost gone unless you have kept them inside a black box never to take them out, and even then it is very possible that the chemicals used to create them have started to deteriorate all on their own. Take for example, your wedding picture. It has been so long since you’ve had it taken and now it’s all faded and torn. Also, your baby pictures are now proof of how old you are depending on how worn out it looks. Worry no more, thanks to technology and the world of giclee printing! The next time you have your photos taken, or if you have taken a photo yourself that you are very proud of, have them printed as canvas giclee prints. This new technology to make canvas photo prints saves time, effort, and most importantly your precious memories.

Thinking about it, digital technology has been with us for a while. But it is much more recent that people of the new generation are really enjoying the convenience of the digital world. Unlike in the past, this era has brought about a lot of new technologies that can make our lives more exciting, fun, and easier. Pricing for the new digital SLR cameras has never been so low. The ability to take beautifully astonishing images is at your fingertips. Digital photography saves you from using photographic films and does not anymore undergo a chemical processing, which was one of the causes for your treasured images to deteriorate over time (a very short time).

Now, what is giclee printing exactly? Pronounced “jhee-clay”, is a sophisticated inkjet printing method. It merges the use of professional grade large format printers with archival pigment inks, acid free watercolor papers and canvas. By using custom profiles, precise color correction and expert scanning, pigment printing can render subtle gradations and many colors that would be out of range with other technologies. Canvas giclee prints are a great way to print your photos not just in the same old photo paper but in canvas. Canvas photo prints are made to last 100 years or more, much better than a normal printed photograph.

Another advantage of this technology is the different effects you can give your photos. You can have your photo canvas giclee prints transformed into an oil painting. Using a specialized tablet and stylus brushstrokes can be created by hand to give a beautiful painterly effect. Your photos can be colorized or turned into black and white or Sepia. The possibilities are endless!

Here at Prints Giclee Shop we are making this process even easier. In the very near future you will have the ability to order your print to canvas directly from your computer at home. You will be able to upload your image to our server, choose from our standard sizes as well as input custom sizes. You will be able to stretch your canvas, including gallery wraps. Choose from a selection of frames and have it shipped to your home in just a few days. If you would like your image printed on our fine art papers you will be able to order in the same way and additionally you will be able to add a mat and even select a shadow box custom framing!
